End of the tour....

New York smog....pretty! :)
First Tim Horton's I've been to! Service friendly, coffee very good....donut MUCH too sweet.
Cute tee shirt that sounds exactly like the locals.... but..."Bangin' a U-ie"????
Dang!!!! That's not very nice....
Another dawn shot
Time to leave for Bangor...beautiful day... figures......
My view from the motel in Boothbay Harbor on Thursday....even worse on Friday. Record rainfall....
Nathaniel Hawthorne statue in Salem
A reenactment of the hangings. I didn't realize that 5 men were hanged along with 14 girls. Amazing story. It reminded me of the present times......self-righteous and/or religious zealots having a stronghold on ordinary citizens...in America and all over the world..Very sad, and very scary...
Where some of the *witches* were hanged...one of many pics from the Witch Museum in Salem

Ron (Brother Bear) and Chris (U-Turn) in front of the Seawitch. Good food, good company!!

U-Turn, me & Brother Bear at the Seawitch for lunch in Peabody, Mass

More Day-tripping

I could've stayed here all day if it weren't for those d*** tourists! And the semis blowing by....

View from the other side of the bridge
Silver Cascades Waterfall in Maine near Mt. Washington
Oh, so THESE are what I've been looking at for the last 4 days!
I bet this trailer would look cool behind a G/G Nomad..... :)
I saw a large herd of deer on the side of the road but didn't notice the fence til I got to the 'Deer Ranch' sign....
Chowin' down
"Hey....don't look at me, I'm not fat enough yet!!"

This was a new one to me...a deer ranch.
The sun finally broke through when I got into Vermont, so down went the top!
I spent quite a bit of time here at the Willie House. After the tour bus left, it was almost deserted. My kind of place.
This was the Alpha Mallard. He told me so.
It also helps to have duck food in your hands.
Did you know that I have an unusual ability to beckon ducks to me? Some people call me the *Duck Whisperer*.
Duck butt! (Hey, I know you're tired of looking at leaves so I tried to mix things up a bit.)
Now THAT'S a LOBSTAH!!!
Memorial plaque of the landslide.
This is where the house sat.
View from the other side of the bridge.

This bridge crosses the lake to a trail up to Mt. Willey.
If you can't (or don't want to) read the whole thing, here's the Cliffs notes: In 1826, a family of 5 and 2 hired men were the only people living in a small group of buildings in Crawford Notch, Maine (a valley between 2 mountains). One night a violent storm flooded the gorge, and (apparently) they all tried to escape to a shelter Mr. Willey had built. Once the landslide was over, friends and family found only the empty, unharmed house sitting amongst total carnage. Most of the bodies were found buried later, a ways from the house. They should've stayed home.
Soooooo....did that give ya the *willies*??? :)
Have you ever wondered where the expression 'a case of the willies' came from? Well, you're about to find out. :)

Boarding the chairlift. I took pics of the couple ahead of me...
Going to get more victims...errrr, passengers

I saw this and HAD to try it. It's called the ZipRider....you take a chairlift up to 2100 feet, get strapped into a little seat and go 45 MPH down the mountain, 70 feet above ground. AWESOME!!!
